Phone Beeps…
Akash reaches out for his phone and it was a text from Bhoomi
The Text message reads “ I Miss You!!!”
Phone Beeps Again…
It was another text from Bhoomi
The Text message reads “ Sorry, it was not meant for you, went by mistake.Ignore it."

One week back...

Bhoomi: Will you stop doing this anymore? Things have changed
 Akash: Doing what?
Bhoomi: Don't pretend, you know what I am talking about.
Akash: I am trying, It's not easy for me.
Bhoomi: Not easy for you? Like we did have something very special.
Akash: It may not be for you but for me its a big deal.
Bhoomi: Oh please, I just had a crush on you and like any straight forward person I expressed myself.
Akash: So Selfish of you, so my feelings were never in concern of you, it was only You never us from the start.
Bhoomi: How dare you say that? Whatever we had, the thing, It's over.
Akash: You don't get to decide everything Ms. Bhoomi Sachdev, at least for God sake have some respect for my feelings, I really loved you and will always do.

Two months back…

Akash: Why are you ignoring me? I am not getting it?
Bhoomi: No, I am not, I don’t know what made you say that.
Akash: Oh C’mon, I am not that stupid, it's totally in front of my eyes.
Bhoomi: Cut the crap, I don’t want to talk about it.
Akash: All of a sudden you stopped talking over the phone and now you don’t want to talk about it anymore.
Bhoomi: Don’t makeup things of your own and If you think I am ignoring you, let it be that way then.
Akash: Fine then, do whatever you want.

5 months back…

Bhoomi: I think we should stop talking over the phone this much anyways we see each other in the office every day.
Akash: That’s not enough for me, I can look at you 24*7. BTW why this all of sudden?
Bhoomi: Nothing in particular just saying.
Akash: okay
Bhoomi: What if I stop talking to you?
Akash: Why would you do that? You are making me shit my pants now :P
Bhoomi: Akash, Please, can you be serious for some time.
Akash: I am all yours Ma’am say
Bhoomi: What say? It's all clear even you know what’s coming. It's impossible for us to be together, the future clearly doesn't hold us.
Akash: Future? We are Happy in the present and let it be, why to complicate things.
Bhoomi(hanging up the call): You can but I can't.

Present day…

Akash(replying to Bhoomi’s text):  No problem, I can understand, it was never me.

Its always good when we meet someone who shares the same interest and zeal in doing something that you like.Definitely it gives one a great pleasure knowing that he is not the only one out there and there are people with whom he can relate to.Moreover meeting such person helps in one thing or other,it makes one's pursuit in his/her interest rather more defining. My interest rather I would say relationship with books as just like any boyfriend-girlfriend type(of course I am the man in it :D) with two different switching mode ON-OFF.

It all started in primary school when we used to have Adventures of Tom Sawyer,David Copperfield foe our English reader. By the time I was in middle school I was all into the stuffs like Hardy Boys,Goosebumps and Famous five.I tried reading Harry Potter,Eragon but was always used get lost in the pages and what was back to usual reads.Though I visited all the Book fair that came to my city with my parents(Till date I do ) I used to get only the Quiz and Current Affairs book.It was only in High school when I was truly exposed to the world of literature.Seeing my fellow read stuff like LOTR,The Godfather,Dan Brown was something I was never used to and called it my envy(In an good sense though) I was all pumped up to move to the next level. It started off with Man Booker Prize winner Arvind Adiga's The White Tiger with no hard copy I gave it a read over my classic Sony Ericsson. It was different from all that I have read before and it was start of never ending journey(with some halt,of course). Da Vinci Code,Angel and Demons,Deception point,Great Gatsby all in a flow.Yes I forgot to mention the Likes of Chetan Bhagat and Durjoy Dutta that made me realize what I was missing on with their out of the world typical Bollywood novels(I did enjoy reading Five point Someone and 2 states though). Till that time Indian authors for me were only limited to CB,DD and Ravinder Singh until one of my gave me a copy of Calcutta Chromosome By Amitav Ghosh and it was my first dive into World of Indian Literature.

Goodreads,a social network for book lover was not that alien to me but it was never appealing until 2014.While I was scrolling the site I stumble upon the the Goodreads Book Challenge 2014 and I kinda love the concept where one can set the number of books he/she will read for that year and constantly monitoring and updating their status.I was late in 2014 so I decided to take up the challenge in 2015 and being true to my commitments I did took up the challenge and did set a target of 12 books. At first, 12 book a year i.e. 1 book a month did not seemed that hard as now I was into reading on regularly.Slowly it became tough to cope up with it and by September,I was six book behind schedule. My friend Animesh who himself took up the challenge  kept on pushing me to complete the challenge and it  helped me to some extent and finally on 30th December I completed my 12th book,The Old man and the Sea.This year too I am up with the Challenge and set a goal of 12 books for me and as of now it seems to be going very smooth.

Lately I realized that Books are an escape to the world we always wanted to be in.They make one transform into a better being and has lots to teach to everyone.Every time a get some spare time.I look out for a bookstore and head towards it.All I want to do is being surrounded by books every time and it gives me some kind a satisfaction
and peace.

I would end up quoting Ernest Hemingway “There is no friend as loyal as a book” and I could not agree much on it.For all who are missing out on this friend its never late to start up.

Though there have been many incidents in my life when I had listened to my heart and done something without thinking too much with my head , but one incident  that stands out and has brought immense pleasure to my mind and soul, so I feel the need to share with you all about this incident.

I live in Guwahati , a developing city in Assam while my girl friend hails from a hilly and also the largest  district of Assam called  Karbi Anglong. This place called Karbi Anglong  is a beautiful scenic district and the beauty of this place can easily mesmerize anyone. But the problems the whole of  North East is facing from decades  are numerous, biggest of them is negligence  from  Center i.e the Government and the other being  the problem of terrorism .

It was only last year in December when I was talking with  my girlfriend over phone at around  8 in the morning. Suddenly I got the news  about her father being kidnapped by an unidentified  gunmen while her father has gone out early in the morning for a walk  with his friends. I felt tremors  through my whole body as I could not believe what I was hearing . Though I could never see tears from my girlfriend eyes,  it was very painful hearing her cry.It was only two long days later  the gunmen called and demanded  extortion money from the family and asked them not to dare to inform the police otherwise her father  would be killed. My girlfriend belonged to a middle class family and for them to collect such a huge amount  within three days was not possible. I wanted to help her but I too was a victim of engineering being jobless at that time. Meanwhile the situation at her  home was getting worsen and I knew I can not sit back like this. I had to do something as quickly as possible. So I decided to follow my heart and started to  borrow money from everyone possible and to my surprise I was successful in collecting a good amount within hours. I was also tense whether I will be able to return the money I have borrowed from them but it was a risk I had to take. I gave this amount to  her family and after a week her father was released by the unidentified gunmen. The entire family thanked me but for me seeing my girlfriend smiling all over again with tears of happiness rolling down from sparkling eyes and thanking me even without saying a word was a picturesque moment.

I have never felt so good in my whole life after helping her during that tough moment of her life. Sometimes following your heart without worrying too much about the consequences thus help.I am also thankful to those who gave money to me even though they knew I was jobless at that time. Thankfully by God's grace now I have a job and I have successfully returned almost all the amount  I have taken from them.
